December 2017 Christmas Dance!

We had a great crowd at our 2017 Christmas Dance with lots of guests. Plus Santa & Ms Claus were on hand for photos with our dancers.  We even had a wedding proposal by two of our guests.

Sherrill Boyd (one of our founding members) sponsored the Christmas Decorations and put Vicky Rideout in charge of coming up with the table decorations. Vicky came up with Santa Claus theme and as requested by Sherrill we gave away all the table decorations at the end of the dance.  A huge thank you to Sherrill for her donation and to Vicky for her time and effort with this special assignment.

Some of the board members also brought gifts to be give away.

Santa & Mrs. Claus were on hand for photos.  The Clauses with the Metro Board. Thank you Bob & Jenny Thomas for making this possible.

As always we try make our guests feel welcome by helping them during the evening to learn the basics of each dance. This month we had the Al & Judy Bradley giving mini lesson’s during the dance. This was so that the guests that wanted some personalized dance instructions had a chance to ask question and get some one on one help with the steps.

We had a wonderful time teaching and dancing with our new members and guest.

Rick & Vicky Rideout taught a Waltz lesson before the dance.

Preparation for the big dance. As most of you know the dance floor as been an issue for a long time. The floor is always sticky and hard to dance on. Several months ago I (Rick Rideout) purchased a floor scrubber just to see if it would help with the floor issue. We haven’t had a chance to give it a try until this months dance so Vicky & I arrived early that morning to start testing the machine on the floor. After a few passes on the floor it was obvious that it was removing a lot of built up wax and dirt that mopping was just not getting up. With help from Dan Grimm, LD Harry, Eric Reek, and Allen Bradley. We ran the scrubber over the whole dance floor and brought the floor to a nice shine and finish like we have never seen. The floor was the best it’s ever been for dancing.

Notice the shine on the floor. (Below)

Vicky Rideout had her camera and took photos of the evening. Click on the Photo Gallery tab then on the tab of the month you want to view.

Photos of the dance can also be seen at our Facebook page.ttps://

Thank you very much to all that attended. :-)
